Beat the DVLA bully boys - It can be done

Learn how to beat the DVLA

£80 SO CALLED FINE – CASE DISMISSED

I sold my car of 10 years ownership, a car that had only been serviced by one mechanic and never broken down to a person that never sent his V5C/2 to the DVLA, to make matters worse the DVLA sent me a letter asking for a £80 fine or a £40 fine if you just pay up quickly because of no car tax.

Despite writing back stating that the vehicle in question had been sold with tax still valid they wrote back that they had no record of change of ownership and that the fine is still outstanding.

Step two was to phone the DVLA – a nice and polite woman discussed the problem and seemed quite informed about these situations, after informing me that a letter should be sent to them stating what had occurred, then she informed me to ring up again if no written confirmation was received by myself in twenty eight days. Which seemed strange –I asked if much correspondence went missing, after hearing what seemed to be a little chuckle she stated that she couldn’t discuss this. Which seemed even stranger to me especially as despite the Royal Mail of late having a very good delivery rate, two of my letters in forty seven years have failed to arrive at the designated address.

So there, the matter was put to bed it seemed, but as many people know the bullies of the DVLA did not want to let it sleep, another letter arrived stating that they intend to proceed to court over the matter of non payment of £80 fine

Fuming I stormed on the computer- RESEARCH will tell me the next plan of attack, but to no avail all it did was show me how many of these stories there are, I could have spent months not weeks looking at the same stories. I even saw a solicitor state the fact about the 4 week acknowledgement and pay up.

BUT I DIDN’T GIVE UP.

As a self employed businessman for 35 years and with the threat of ever-growing matso’s, parking wardens and more tax forms to fill out NOT less, there comes a time when people must make a stand. With parking fines, speed fines and late payment of tax fines amounting to a vast amount ( They may have bailed the banks out but we are no better off) the government-( our government), Government quangos, civil service departments and debt collectors are all benefiting because of people DOING the correct procedures.

I’m not a solicitor and didn’t use a solicitor JUST JOE SOAP trying to fight the bureaucrats trying to rip me off.
